The United Kingdom and Saudi Arabia have reaffirmed their commitment to advancing sustainability, with a strong emphasis on clean hydrogen technologies, as part of a broader effort to deepen their economic partnership. During an official visit by UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer to Saudi Arabia, both nations outlined an ambitious agenda aimed at achieving sustainable growth and addressing global challenges.
A joint statement issued at the conclusion of the visit highlighted the pivotal role of clean hydrogen in the bilateral relationship. Saudi Arabia’s Global Supply Chain Resilience Initiative, along with the launch of five special economic zones, offers significant opportunities for British companies to invest in renewable energy, hydrogen production, and electric vehicles.
In addition, UK Export Finance announced plans to increase its market exposure to $6 billion, further supporting projects that align with clean energy and sustainability goals.

The two nations commended ongoing cooperation in the energy sector, particularly in renewable energy and sustainable technologies. This includes advancing Saudi Arabia’s Circular Carbon Economy approach, which aims to reduce emissions while fostering economic growth.
