Call for Global New Energy ESG Top 100

I. Event Background

Against the backdrop of global efforts to combat climate change and vigorously develop new energy, the new energy industry has become a key force in promoting the green transformation of the economy. With the firm commitment of all countries to the “dual-carbon” goal, the practice and effectiveness of new energy enterprises in environmental, social and corporate governance not only concern their own long-term development, but also have far-reaching impacts on the process of global sustainable development. 

In order to award new energy enterprises with outstanding performance in the ESG field, set up industry benchmarks, and promote the sustainable development of the new energy industry, the Global Green Energy Industry Council (GGEIC), the New Energy Industry Association for Asia and the Pacific (NEIAAP), and the Asian Photovoltaic Industry Association (APVIA) are introducing the “Call for Global New Energy ESG Top 100”. The event aims to bring together the excellent practices of global new energy enterprises, promote the in-depth practice of ESG concepts in the new energy industry through selection and exchange, and contribute to the realization of the global “dual-carbon” goal.

II. Event Goals

1. Discovery and Award: Discover and award global new energy companies with outstanding ESG practices, enhance their brand influence and social recognition, so as to inspire more companies to engage in ESG practices.
2. Sharing Experience: Widely collect and promote excellent ESG practice cases, provide new energy enterprises with role models to learn, as well as promote the overall ESG level of the industry.
3. Exchange and cooperation: Build a platform for exchanges and cooperation in ESG field among new energy enterprises, promote experience sharing and resource integration within the industry, and jointly explore new paths for sustainable development.

III. Event Time
1. Application Period: April 15, 2025 - May 8, 2025, during which enterprises submit application forms and relevant supporting materials.
2. Review Period: May 12, 2025 - May 28, 2025, a professional reviewers team will conduct an initial review of these forms.
3. Publicity Period: June 1, 2025 - June 10, 2025, the review shortlist will be publicized on the official website, mainstream media and other platforms to accept social supervision.
4. Award Ceremony: A grand award ceremony will be held on June 10-13, 2025 at the “SNEC PV + 18th (2025) International Photovoltaic Power Generation and Smart Energy Conference & Exhibition”.

IV. Participants

Enterprises worldwide engaged in research and development, production, sales, application and related services in the new energy industry (including but not limited to solar energy, photovoltaic, energy storage, hydrogen energy, wind energy, etc.) are eligible to apply for this selection.

V. Selection Criteria 

1. Environmental
1) Energy consumption and emission reduction: the enterprise’s energy utilization efficiency, as well as measures and effectiveness in reducing greenhouse gas and pollutant emissions.
2) Resource management: rational utilization and protection of water and land resources, as well as waste treatment and recycling.
3) Response to climate change: the enterprise’s strategies, measures and targets in response to climate change, such as participation in carbon market transactions, and research and development of carbon capture and storage technologies.

2. Social
1) Employee rights and benefits: employee compensation and benefits, working environment, career development opportunities, health and safety protection, etc.
2) Community relations: Interaction and cooperation between the enterprise and the community, and contribution to community development, such as participation in public welfare, support for local education and employment.
3) Supply chain responsibility: ESG management of upstream and downstream enterprises in the supply chain to promote the sustainable development of the supply chain.

3. Governance
1) ESG strategy and management: whether the enterprise has formulated a clear ESG strategy and objectives, as well as a corresponding management system and division of responsibilities.
2) Information disclosure: the disclosure extent and transparency of ESG information, including whether annual ESG reports are published, and its completeness and accuracy.
3) Compliance and risk management: the company’s compliance with environmental protection, labor regulations, business ethics, etc., as well as its ability to identify, assess and respond to ESG-related risks.

VI. Awards Process

1. Application

 During the application period, enterprises log on to the official website of the event, fill in the detailed application form online and submit relevant supporting materials, including basic information of the enterprise, ESG strategies and practices, relevant data and cases, etc. Please ensure that the application materials are true, accurate and complete.

2. Review

Industry experts, scholars, professionals in the ESG field, etc. are invited to form an authoritative review committee to conduct an in-depth evaluation of the shortlisted companies. The review committee will conduct a comprehensive assessment of the ESG practices of the companies based on the selection criteria through on-site visits (if necessary), case analysis and data verification.

3. Publicity

Based on the review results, the finalists of “Global New Energy ESG Top 100” will be determined and publicized on the official website of the event, mainstream media and other platforms for a period of 10 days. During the publicity period, we will accept the supervision of the community, and if there is any objection, you can present it to the organizing committee through the designated channels, and the organizing committee will conduct investigation and verification.

4. Award Ceremony

On June 10-13, 2025, a grand award ceremony will be held to present awards to the companies selected in the “Global New Energy ESG Top 100”, and will invite representatives of the award-winning companies and industry experts to attend the ceremony to share their experiences and achievements in ESG practices and discuss the sustainable development of the new energy industry.

VII. Awards Categories

1. The “Global New Energy ESG Top 100” Title and Certificate: awarded to companies with outstanding ESG performance, awarding their overall achievements in environmental, social and corporate governance.
2.Individual Excellence Awards: for enterprises with outstanding performance in a single area of environmental, social and corporate governance, the “Environmental Excellence Award”, “Social Contribution Award” and “Excellent Corporate Governance Award” will be established respectively to encourage their outstanding practices in specific areas.

VIII. Promotion

1. Official website: an exclusive page on the official website of the event organizer will be established as the main platform for event information release, enterprise application, result announcement, etc., and carry out search engine optimization to improve the exposure rate and user experience of the website.
2. Media cooperation: establish an in-depth cooperation with domestic and international mainstream financial media, energy industry media, ESG professional media, etc., to report and promote the event in a comprehensive manner, including the launch of the event, application dynamics, publicity of the shortlist, award ceremony and other important nodes.
3. Social media promotion: utilize social media platforms (WeChat, WeChat Video, LinkedIn, X, etc.) to promote the event, posting activity information, sharing companies’ ESG cases, and expert opinions to attract more attention and participation.
4. Industry activities promotion: publicize the selection in industry exhibitions, forums, seminars and other activities to increase the visibility and influence of the activities and attract more enterprises to participate.
