Singapore-headquartered solar PV manufacturer EliTe Solar has launched its new high-efficiency solar cell manufacturing facility in Indonesia, within 6 months of the civil construction starting on site.

EliTe Solar says considering the country’s potential of around 3.294 TW solar, this cell factory positions it to meet the growing demand and support local economic development.

The manufacturer calls it a major milestone in its global green and low-carbon strategy; however, it does not specify the annual production capacity of the factory.

TaiyangNews has reached out to EliTe Solar for more details about the Indonesia project.

Earlier this year, at RE+ 2024, in an exclusive interview with TaiyangNews Managing Director, EliTe Solar’s CEO, Arndt Lutz, and General Manager, Alex Chen, spoke at length about the company’s production plans. They shared that EliTe owns about 3 GW of ingot and wafer manufacturing factory in Vietnam, and 2 GW cell and module capacity in Indonesia. By the end of 2024, it planned to move the Vietnam capacity to Indonesia.

EliTe is also building a 2 GW solar cell production capacity in Egypt as part of its 8 GW plans for the country as it targets Europe, the US and Asia markets.

It will break ground on the Egypt factory on December 16, 2024 in the TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone. The project is to be completed within 2 phases, shared the manufacturer.
