A Turkish company, Smart Solar Technologies, plans to build a solar cell and panel factory in Bulgaria. This project is estimated to be worth around 123 million euros and is considered a priority investment by the Bulgarian government. The factory’s products would mainly be sold to European countries.

The Bulgarian government has approved a memorandum of understanding with Smart Solar Technologies to build the factory in the village of Elenino. The solar cells and panels produced would be exported to European Union countries like Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, and Austria.

The Bulgarian government will also form a working group to support the project. The project is expected to create over 800 jobs, boost the local economy, and provide sustainable employment in Stara Zagora. This project aligns with Bulgaria’s investment promotion policy, which focuses on projects that significantly contribute to the country’s economic growth.
